ENGL 01 English As a Second Language

A class for students whose native language is not English. Learners develop coherent speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills while interacting with peers and the instructors. Learners develop conversational skills through participation in group activities, interviews, and panel discussions. Learners monitor speech for errors in pronunciation, grammar, and discourse. Not acceptable for degree credit or for transfer. Lecture 3 hours per week.
